Equestrian Gifting Calendar 2026

This page is the 2026 equestrian gifting calendar: every gift-worthy date of the year for the horse lover in your life, with one gift idea beside each, so a personalised present arrives in time rather than the morning after.

Primroses, holly, conkers and autumn leaves in a row on a stable windowsill, a horse grazing beyond.

We've paired each date with one gift idea and a single place to start looking. Everything we make is made when you order it. Nothing sits in a warehouse. Standard UK delivery is free and takes 4 to 9 working days, and Priority delivery is offered at checkout.

So the rule that runs through this whole page is simple: count 9 working days back from the date, then leave a margin. Browse the full gift collections or start from a breed if you already know what they ride.

Still to come in 2026

  • Horse of the Year Show (HOYS), 7 Oct 2026 (Equestrian event). A keepsake for the rider who qualified, or the one who never misses the NEC. gifts for horse owners.
  • London International Horse Show, 17 Dec 2026 (Equestrian event). A festive show-week present that doubles as an early Christmas gift. Christmas gifts for horse lovers.
  • Christmas Day, 25 Dec 2026 (Calendar date). The big one. Order early and let it be a portrait under the tree. Christmas gifts for horse lovers.
  • Boxing Day, 26 Dec 2026 (Calendar date). A lower-cost gift for the horsey relative you'll see between Christmas and New Year. horse gifts under £25.
  • New Year's Day, 1 Jan 2027 (Calendar date). A fresh-start present: a print marking the horse they bought, retired or brought on this year. personalised horse print.

Event dates are as published by each organiser and were read on 2 September 2026: racing fixtures from the British Horseracing Authority fixture list, the autumn horse trials from Burghley. Next year's fixtures appear on that same BHA list as they are confirmed.

How far ahead to order

We make everything to order, so the clock starts when you click buy, not when stock leaves a shelf. The standard delivery window is at the top of this page, and Priority delivery is offered at checkout. For a portrait, you approve the preview before you pay, so the order starts from the picture you chose. If a date matters, give it room.

Autumn into Christmas

Autumn is when the planners get ahead. Burghley ran from 3 September, HOYS fills the NEC from 7 October, and the London International Horse Show closes the year from 17 December, right as Christmas posting gets busy.

Christmas is the date to order early for, because December post is busy; the Christmas gift guide explains why this site gives no order-by date. Start with a portrait or a print well ahead. Browse Christmas gifts for horse lovers early.

Last-minute gifts that still land

If you're inside the 4 to 9 working-day window, Priority delivery at checkout is the option to look at, and a digital file of the name print or the photo print is emailed as a download link as soon as it is ready.

A personalised mug or a print is a simple late choice. If money's tight as well as time, gifts under £25 and gifts under £50 are the places to look.

These 2026 dates have already happened

Kept here because the calendar is the whole year, and because the same dates come round again. The gift ideas beside them still apply.

  • Valentine's Day, 14 Feb 2026 (Calendar date). A name-and-breed print or mug for the rider who'd pick the horse over flowers. Valentine's gifts under £50.

Spring

Spring stacked up fast. Cheltenham started 10 March, Mothering Sunday landed 15 March, Easter followed on 5 April, and the Grand National ran 11 April: four reasons to buy inside five weeks.

For the horse mum, a print or mug with her own horse's name does more than a card. Start at horse gifts for women. For the racing crowd around Cheltenham and Aintree, a personalised mug is an easy win, and there's plenty under budget in gifts under £25.

Summer

Summer was the long stretch of horse shows. Badminton opened 6 May, Royal Windsor 14 May, Bramham 11 June, then Hickstead's Royal International on 21 July. Father's Day sat in the middle on 21 June.

For the horse dad, keep it personal. A print of his horse beats another pair of socks. See gifts for horse dads. For the eventing and showing fans criss-crossing the country, a name mug earns its keep in the lorry kitchen, and a special-occasion present sits well as a custom horse portrait.

Gifts for a horse you've lost

Losing a horse is its own kind of grief, and a personalised piece can sit gently alongside it. There's no rush and no deadline here. Order when it feels right.

A portrait drawn from a favourite photo gives someone something to keep. See memorial gifts, or start a portrait from the photo: you see a free watermarked preview before you decide.

Retirements and stable goodbyes

Two horsey occasions don't sit on the calendar but come round all the same: a horse's retirement, and someone leaving the yard. Both deserve more than a card.

For a retired horse, a print or portrait marks the years of work. See retirement gifts. When a stable manager or yard friend moves on, a thoughtful send-off goes down well, so start at leaving gifts for a stable manager or the wider gifts for stable managers.

Questions, answered

You see the free watermarked preview on screen before you pay. After you order, it is made and delivered like everything else; delivery and returns has the times. A digital file is emailed as a download link.
Do you deliver outside the UK?
Not yet: UK addresses only, and the price you see includes delivery. If you are buying from abroad, write to hello@stableandhoof.com and we will tell you if that changes.
What does 'made to order' mean for timing?
It means we make each item only after you buy it. Nothing is pre-stocked, so your timeline begins at checkout.
